I went for a walk tonight around the cemetery across the street from my house. There is an old stone church there that was built in the mid 1800’s around the time of the civil war , I think the house I’m living in is around the same age too. The older part of the cemetery has grave stones that date back to when the church was built, you know the really cool weather worn marble grave markers that make you feel like you are standing in another time. I love walking there. It has a melancholy mood to it that comforts me in some way and also reminds me of the importance of life and loved ones. It is always a grounding experience being there. Tonight, there were storm clouds in the air just as the sun was disappearing in the tree line creating a lavender and pink sky. The tones of the sky reminded me of my paintings. I am in love with lavender and blues these days. I can’t seem to get away from it in my work. I wonder why that is? Maybe it’s because they are the colors of the upper more spiritual chakras and remind me of the divine? I don’t know the answer, I just know how deeply they resonate with me and how much I loved seeing my color palette in the sky tonight.
